FAQs Philosophy I believe in engaging with clients in a collaborative, equal relationship.  I strive to provide a safe atmosphere where together we can explore your concerns at a pace that you deem appropriate. Areas of Specialization I provide counseling services to individuals, couples, families & groups, and specialize in several topic areas, including: Physical illness Chronic physical pain Depression, anxiety Expressive arts therapy Life transitions Clients’ Rights You have many rights, some of which are: To be treated with respect at all times To ask questions at any time To have full information about my scope of practice and therapeutic orientation To have full information regarding limits of confidentiality To continue or discontinue therapy, as you see fit To disclose only the personal information that you choose Confidentiality I pledge to keep confidential the information you impart during sessions, with the follow exceptions.  Ethical standards and legal codes* require counselors to report to a third party when clients indicate any of the following situations:  If the client intends to harm self or others, or, if the client has information of anyone’s direct involvement with child abuse or neglect or abuse of the elderly.  Also, information that is mandated by the courts cannot be kept confidential. *American Counseling Association, American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy, and Nevada Revised Statutes Appointments To schedule an appointment, please call me at (775) 287-6784.  I typically return calls within 24- 48 hours.  If you need to cancel an appointment, please contact me at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.  Payment is collected at the conclusion of each session.  I am on a few insurance panels and am happy to bill your insurance company whether as an in-network or out- of-network provider.  I also provide counseling services as authorized by various regional EAPs and Nevada State programs. Qualifications Licensure and Certification I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT#1058), a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (CP#0011), a Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor (#109LC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC#87375). Education My Master’s Degree is in Counseling and Educational Psychology, earned at the University of Nevada, Reno. Training I regularly attend professional training workshops.
